Spacecraft 2100 to 2200 AD
by Jack Hsu
Publisher: Morrigan Press

Spacecraft 2100 to 2200 AD I used to own a copy of Spacecraft 2000 to 2100 AD but lost it during a move years ago. When I heard this book was coming out, I hoped that this edition would live up to the memories I had from that long lost volume. I was not disappointed. Most of the images I recall from the older book (published in 1979) are in this book. Some are different as the pictures here are not the original illustrations, but digital reproductions from talented computer artists. There are some new illustrations in this book that were not in the older book and vice versa (I miss the dust jacket illustration of a massive factory ship being escorted by 3 Proximan Sharks). The text describing the ships were pretty much as I remembered. The introductory section gives you a little background to place the ships in context, something that the original book lacked. All in all, I was very please with this purchase and would heartily recommend it to anyone who is nostalgic about the old Stewart Cowley Spacecraft series...

The Vang: The Military Form
by Nicholas Bergquist
Publisher: Far Future Enterprise
Date Added: 06/17/2008 10:45:17
The Vang: The Military Form Absolutely awesome creepy alien invasion novel, you'll love it if you enjoyed the original Alien but thought that a really inventive genetically engineered alien would be smarted and more devious. I've read this book multiple times over the years, and it never ceases to entertain. Rowley needs to return to his sci fi tales! Scan is clean and readable, although the cover is slightly marred....but it's the book you want. Get it!

The Vang: The Battlemaster One of the best creepy alien sci-fi novels I have ever read, and officially one of the few books I have now read 3 times. Glad to own it on PDF. The scan was pretty clean, all things considered. I wish Rowley would return to his sci fi Starhammer/Vang universe!

Pajo
by Maria Edwards
Publisher: iUniverse, Inc.
Date Added: 11/07/2007 07:41:53
Pajo Every once in a while, you come across a book that has it all. Pajo is one of those books. Set amidst the strange beauty of an ancient kingdom, Pajo is a story of love, sacrifice, magic, adventure, and friendship. The title character, Pajo, is the last member of a dying race. Covered in fur and stinking of the swamps where he makes his home, he is a wretched creature, tortured by self-loathing and the knowledge that he is something less than human. Though he’s only thirteen years old, Pajo carries a lifetime of burdens on his rounded shoulders. He doesn’t love himself, and he has no reason to love anyone else, but that doesn’t stop him from undertaking a dangerous journey to save the infant prince. At turns, this book is funny, frightening, thought provoking, and heart warming. It’s a wonderful adventure story. More importantly, it’s a poignant reminder of the true nature of heroism and humanity. Maria Edwards President, American Authors Association...

The Mists of Sorrow
by Daniel Smythe
Publisher: iUniverse, Inc.
Date Added: 12/07/2006 09:29:03
The Mists of Sorrow Fantastic Conclusion to a great series! Pratt really wrapped it up well and there were a few unexpected twists rolled in too. Such as: What happened to Serena after the Willimet incident. Korgan, Perrilin, even Miko had a destiny to fulfill. Awesone. The last several chapters left me breathless. I don't want to spoil it or anything but James met his destiny head on. On yeah, the ending left you feeling good and was upbeat. The Morcyth Saga was one of the best series I've read in a long time!!...

Shades of the Past
by Daniel Smythe
Publisher: iUniverse, Inc.
Date Added: 11/24/2006 10:44:44
Shades of the Past War!!! What's a fantasy without the clash of swords and magic? Pratt gives us that in Shades of the Past. James kicks butt as he worked to drive the Empire from Madoc. But it isn't a head on frontal assault that he's working on, rather he pushes into Madoc and forces them to pull their armies back to deal with him. Which in turn allows the soldiers of Madoc and the Alliance to push them out. This was the best of the series so far. The magical battles, the intrigue, oh man what a story! James faces all challenges and survives by the skin of his teeth. The way he overcomes what's thrown at him is brilliant, especially when...sorry, almost ruined it there. Great series. I'm very glad that my friend convinced me to read it. From what the author said on his website, there's only one more to go. Can't wait!...

The Star of Morcyth
by Daniel Smythe
Publisher: iUniverse, Inc.
Date Added: 11/22/2006 09:45:04
The Star of Morcyth Here in the fifth book, Pratt begins to bring it together. The action picked up again after the fourth book and we see new and innovative uses James puts magic to. Not only does he continue to grow in power and adeptness, but he in book four he had learned how to harness and store magical energies which saves his butt in a couple different situations. One of my favorite scenes was when James was held captive on the boat. Drugged and captive, he still manages to toast most of the crew and send the ship to the bottom of the sea. And the ending, it took me totally by surprise, I'll not spoil anything but it was most satisfying the way Pratt wrapped it up. Only two books more to go and I can't wait!! On a side note, for whatever reason you can't get the fourth book through this website, I had to go to the author's website to get it at morcythsaga.com....

Warrior Priest of Dmon-Li
by Daniel Smythe
Publisher: iUniverse, Inc.
Date Added: 11/21/2006 11:27:04
Warrior Priest of Dmon-Li Some say that as a series progresses, the author begins to lose his edge. Not here. Pratt kept the action coming. My favorite place was the old complex in the middle of the swamps. There James and those with him were trapped by some magical means. He had to really stretch his mind to figure his way out of there. The premise is that James and Jiron, after successfully rescuing Miko are now trying to get back to the relative safety of Cardri. Pratt introduces us here, in part, to the Priesthood of Dmon-Li. Primarily through the warrior priest Abula-Mazki who was sent to bring James back to his master. From the skull pyramids to the locked tower in an enemy controlled Keep, the story flows steadily towards the climactic end. And the ending took me completely by surprise let me tell you. There you also discover why the book is named the way it is....

Naked Venom
by Christina Roberts
Publisher: Double Dragon Publishing
Date Added: 09/30/2006 19:12:00
Naked Venom I really enjoyed Naked Venom! It's the first book I've read by these authors and I was quite impressed! I’ll definitely be looking for more of their works. My only negative comment would be that some of the chapters seemed to be rushed, with events moving along a bit too fast and the scenes sometimes ending rather abruptly. It would have been nice to have the pace slowed down a bit and certain parts more fleshed out. But despite that minor quibble, the story did flow rather nicely with not a single dull spot! I was hooked from the very beginning and found that I couldn't stop until it was finished. I ended up reading the whole story in one sitting! Naked Venom is categorized as Science Fiction, but it also has a dash of Fantasy elements, which I loved! The plot is ripe with palace intrigue revolving around the murder of the AEssiryan King, and at the heart of it all is a subtle romance/attraction between the two main characters, Harlan and Gavin. I liked Harlan very much! She ...

Book of Templates - Deluxe Edition 3.5
by Chris Gath [Staff]
Publisher: Silverthorne Games
Date Added: 09/29/2006 00:00:00
Book of Templates - Deluxe Edition 3.5 Sometimes it feels like I have reviewed a book before. But rarely is it this true. In fact I have in one way of looking at it reviewed this book twice before. The first time was when it was just the Book of Templates and then the second time when it became the Book of Templates Deluxe. Now it is the Book of Templates Deluxe 3.5 Edition and with each change it has gotten a great improvement and been one of the most used books at my gaming table. It is really cool to see such a great book finally come out in print as well as PDF like the first two were. Silverthorne Games and Goodman games should be very proud of this book and it has to be rare if not unique for a non core gaming book to get three releases with two significant improvements over the original which was a very solid and useful book in its own right. Book of Templates 3.5 Deluxe Edition is a great looking hardbound book. It is one hundred and ninety two pages long and all black and white. The layout is well done with many...

Escape 2 Earth I found this to be a terrific read that left me wondering. What if crop circles are really from aliens? Is the link between the Mayan Calendar and the circles legit? HHHmmm, I did enjoy this book troughout, when I got to certain chapters I just couldn't put it down.

Book of Templates - Deluxe Edition 3.5
by Shane O'Connor [Staff]
Publisher: Silverthorne Games
Date Added: 01/30/2006 00:00:00
Book of Templates - Deluxe Edition 3.5 The Book of Templates Deluxe Edition 3.5 is from Silverthorne Games, being the latest (and most likely final) incarnation of the original Book of Templates. This book offers a wealth of new material, beyond a truckload of new monster templates, for your Fantasy d20 game. The product contains two files. The first is the full-color version, weighing in at almost 7.5 megabytes. This version has borders along the pages, colored headers, and tables that are shaded. The printer-friendly version eliminates all this, and is just over 5.5 megs. Both versions contain a full-color cover and black and white interior artwork. Both have bookmarks and a hyperlinked table of contents, and a page of ads at the end, as well as the OGL. The Book of Templates offers, as mentioned, far more than mere templates. The first chapter offers a wealth of advice regarding building monsters, outshining the Monster Manual by far in terms of summing up building monsters. It gives the layout of each template, re...
